About Me
I’m a third generation Californian. Kind of rare for guys my age. Born in San Francisco and raised in the East Bay. Lived there until 16, then down to Huntington Beach and Southern California for the next 24 years. Now I’m back in the East Bay (approaching 14 years) and sometimes I miss SoCal.
Been happily married for over 33 years now, three daughters (all grown) and a couple of cats. Own a home on the wrong side of the tracks, but with housing prices in the Bay Area being what they are, we’re lucky to own, and the neighborhood is fairly quiet.
I work for a biotech company as a process control tech/engineer. Do a little programming and instrument install/maintenance. Working here is the reason we moved back to the Bay Area and love the job. Lots of freedom to work on projects I like and the scientists and engineers here are great.
My first personal passion is listening to music, mostly rock. As I grow older I’m finding new styles outside of rock that I enjoy as well. Another passion is reading sci-fi although that’s harder to find time for. I’ve never been much of a”car guy” so the MINI thing hit me by surprise. From the first time I read that BMW was planning to sell them is the US I’ve wanted one. The MINI thing is growing and has become a fun obsession for me (not my long suffering wife though, she has to listen ad nauseum to me talking about a car she cares nothing for, oh well).
